Finding Freedom
Finding Freedom (read my me):
May shame cease to exist within your psyche. May fear find no place to dwell within your mind. May regret find no room to remain among the healing, empowering lessons you glean for having lived your past. May you find hope, peace, and light within yourself, and may every step you take no matter how small speak of your courage to keep moving forward, and as you continue on your journey, may you find rest in the sacred truth that the intimate souls closest to you have never stopped advocating for you.
The Reflection:
I’m tired. I reached a point this week where I just gave up.
Here’s what I’m giving up:
1. I give up on praying.
Is faith still present within me? Sure. But, I give up on trying to find the perfect formula that will get God to provide healing. If only I pray enough, get the right people to pray, pray in the right postures, at the right times, balance speaking and reverent silence perfectly, pray the perfect words, then God will heal the one I so deeply love.
I’m done contorting myself into someone good enough for God to love and listen to when the truth is that I was born beloved and yes, am worthy of love and honor just as I am.
God, the universe, and all other entities can do their thing. I’ll be eating chocolate, watching Netflix, and taking a nap.
2. I give up on bringing my needs only before God.
I allow my heart and mind to find peace within meditation. I seek the intercession and wisdom of my ancestors. I trust in the unity of saints and choose to believe there are saints working for and advocating for me within the interconnectedness of the earthly and heavenly realms. My opportunities to glean wisdom from my ancestors did not fade when their soul entered another realm. Their love for me and desire to help me is ever present. I choose to trust them.
I give up on trying to be and do enough. I give up on believing and operating within misconceptions that do not serve me.
What are you giving up?
May you find peace and hope throughout your journey as you continually discover what to embrace and what to reject.
Have a wonderful day,
Susannah
